Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Carmine's first opened its doors in Palm Beach Gardens in 1987.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a specialty market and five star restaurant.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a young man, Carmine came to the United States from Vittorito and completed his schooling here. Mr. Giardini began as a butcher in Connecticut and relocated to South Florida where he opened his first meat market in Pembroke Pines, Florida in 1972. It originated as a one stop shop for meats but quickly became the inspiration and framework behind what is now a full scale specialty market. He started with a small pizzeria out of his market that grew to become a 4-star, upscale, white tablecloth restaurant that is now Carmine’s La Trattoria.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are still a mom-and-pop-shop. Many customers have been coming to us for years; we know most of our customers by name and they know us. We also carry many products that others do not, and if we don't, we've been known to make special orders. It's a higher level of quality and service that primarily sets us apart, but stop in and we'd be happy to show you why we're different.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Carmine's Gourmet Market is one of a kind! We do have one additional Carmine's La Trattoria in Kendall.
Provide detailed directions to your location
95 to PGA Blvd East. Take PGA Blvd east to Prosperity Farms Road and we are on the Northeast Corner.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all Major Credit Cards and Cash.
Which areas do you service?
We're a local market but we routinely cater all areas of Palm Beach County, and yacht provisioning as far as Miami.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We're a family business led by Carmine Giardini.
What are your hours of operation?
Carmine's Gourmet Market is open 9am-8pm Monday through Saturday, and 9am-7pm on Sundays. Carmine's La Trattoria is open daily from 11am-11pm.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
We love when people tell us they have been a customer for years and still love shopping and dining at Carmines.
