Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since 1985
What is your primary product or service?
Routine and specialty eye exams. Developmental exams, sports vision training, stroke and head injury vision rehabilitation
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In optometry school I thought eye doctors just gave corrective lenses and managed eye health. I attentded lectures on functional vision and it awoke a passion for visual skills training and fixing vision problems that were different than just 20/20.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Besides regular and specialized eye exams I offer in office and remote visual skills training programs. I spend the time it takes to figure out the best prescription and how to help patients with the ways their eyes help them function whether it be school performance, balancing issues, double vision, concussion issues, lazy eyes, raising batting averages, sports performance, and safer driving. I have worked with the Minn Twins, St Louis Cardinals, PGA and LPGA tour players, NFL, Olympics, Golf Channel, NBC and ESPN Sports, PB County Schools, PB County Police, Skilled Nursing Facilities, etc.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I see private patients at Eye Site Vision Center as well as Whitehall Boca and different sporting facilities. I am in talks with area skilled nursing facilities and a regional hospital.
